A review of some of parking problems in Marlow will be launched next week, as council begin to address some of the worst trouble spots.

Transport for Buckinghamshire said it will run an informal consultation on its website from next Friday into the current and future waiting restrictions on some streets in Marlow.

However, Station Road – where businesses say parking problems are forcing them out of town - is not part of this round of informal consultation.

It comes after details were provided by Marlow Town Council about some of the worst problem spots in Marlow.

The changes are limited only to areas which are considered dangerous or where inconsiderate parking is causing hazards, and will look to introduce yellow lines at these locations.

But residents hoping for a long-awaited and widespread town parking review will have to wait a little longer, with councils aiming to launch a full study this summer.

TfB Spokesman Dan Elworthy said: "Transport for Buckinghamshire have been working closely with the local County Councillor and Marlow Town Council to agree the scope of roads and parking proposals to go forward to informal consultation to review current and future waiting restrictions.

"This consultation will commence next week.

"Persons wishing to investigate having waiting restrictions introduced on a particular road, are encouraged to contact their local County Councillor to discuss the options available."

Parking issues in residential streets have long been a bugbear of many Marlovians, with calls for residents' permits and solutions for all-day parking for town workers.

Some residents say it is leading to "parking wars" on the town's streets.

The informal consultation will be available online from Friday, April 24 at http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/about-your-council/have-your-say/.
