A dog grooming business offering ‘deep sea mud baths’ and pedicures for pets will be the latest addition to Marlow’s ever-changing High Street.

Barker’s of Marlow – which already has a store in Wilmslow, Cheshire – will open at the vacant shop at 88 High Street next door to Buckingham Antiques.

Among the services on offer for pampered pooches are ‘coat brightening treatments’ and hydrating butter treatment.

Meanwhile, long-serving shoe shop Clarks has shut its doors for the last time.

Residents have expressed their sadness at the departure of the shoe shop, which leaves town after decades selling shoes to Marlovians.

Carol Lutteman who says two of her sons were made redundant with the closure, took to Facebook to say: “It's such a shame that our shops are closing, for whatever reason.

"Would be interesting if they surveyed the Marlow people to see what stores/shops we would like to see on the High Street.

“I remember bring upset when Woolies left Marlow and Chalks closed. How time changes things.”

Other new additions to the High Street include furniture and accessory shop India Jane and fine art gallery Clarendon.
