WYCOMBE District Council has announced it will revise proposed parking cost hikes following public outcry from motorists.
More than 160 letters and three petitions in opposition to increased charges were handed to the council.
This follows the 'Let us Park, Mrs Clarke' campaign launched by the Bucks Free Press on November 30, which saw our offices bombarded with hundreds of emails and comments from our readers.
Councillor Lesley Clarke, leader of Wycombe District Council, said: "We're pleased that we have been able to address specific concerns regarding the Swan, Easton Street and Kingsmead car parks in High Wycombe and also in the Marlow car parks following the consultation."
This means a six hour tariff will be reintroduced to the Swan car park costing £3.50, eight-hour parking in Easton Street will be reduced from £10 to £7.50 and six hours in Marlow car parks will cost £5.50 instead of £6.
Cllr Clarke added the council's parking strategy had not changed and it would still encourage all-day parkers to use cheaper long stay tariffs outside the town centre to free up spaces for short stay shoppers.
The new parking charges will come into effect on January 14.
