8:57pm Wednesday 27th January 2010 in Marlow By James Nadal
SAINSBURY’S moved a step closer to securing its new store in Marlow tonight as councillors voted to approve it - if a number of conditions are met.
The plans to redevelop the premises in West Street, currently occupied by Waitrose, will be now passed into the hands of the head planning officer who will grant conditional permission if seven clauses are satisfied.
Wycombe District Councillors went with officers’ recommendation.
Sainsbury’s must agree to make various contributions in areas such as open spaces, transport, leisure and libraries.
There were no objections to the plans despite concerns being raised about insufficient parking.

When I visited Marlow last year I was struck by how nice the town was. ~ First one supermarket moves in then no doubt others will follow. I fear Marlow is on the slippery slope to ruin....
