BUDDING orators from a Marlow school beat six teams to to spot in a public speaking contest.
Youngsters from Sir William Borlase's School were the winners of a Rotary Club competition called Youth Speaks.
Team members Chris Kelly, the chairperson, Mitch Byrne, the speaker, and Rob Connell, proposer of the vote of thanks, triumphed with their presentation entitled Olympics2012: Success or Failure?
The group scooped first place ahead of High Wycombe schools John Hampden Grammar in Marlow Hill, the Royal Grammar School in Amersham Road, Wye Valley School in Bourne End and hosts Wycombe Abbey.
Judges gave the award for Borlase's “highly polished, eloquent presentation and impressive team work”.
Rotarian Derek Slade presented the trophy to the team, who will now speak at the zone final on Thursday February 11 at Christchurch United Reform Church, Oxford Road, Marlow.
