A CAMPAIGN group is urging homeowners to petition Parliament about HS2 ahead of next week's deadline - and has produced a guide explaining how it's done.
The petitioning process is designed to allow residents affected by the planned route of the line to lobby the government and show their opposition to the proposals.
The deadline to submit petitions is 2pm on Thursday, May 23 - and the Amersham-based HS2 Action Alliance has produced an online step-by-step guide at www.hs2aa.org/petition.
Richard Houghton from the Alliance said: "HS2 has been pushed through with almost no detailed scrutiny. The petitioning process is the final and only opportunity for those who will be hit hardest by the plans to push Parliament to provide better mitigation."
