Beeks quiet on Wasps' impact on Blues

Wanderers chairman Ivor Beeks Wanderers chairman Ivor Beeks

WANDERERS chairman Ivor Beeks last night refused to allay fans' fears that question marks over the future of Wasps could have a knock-on effect for the football club.

The rugby club are Wanderers' tenants at Adams Park and their financial problems could lead to the football club missing out on important income from rent.

Blues supporters will be hoping a deal can be struck to prevent Wasps going into administration and denying Wanderers key cash.

Uncertainty over the future of Wasps, with a takeover deal seemingly imminent, was given as the reason for Wanderers failing to submit their financial accounts by the March 31 deadline.

This week the club confirmed the accounts have still not been filed, which has landed them with a transfer embargo until they are submitted.

But when asked by the Bucks Free Press to reassure Blues fans their club would not be affected by what is happening with Wasps, Mr Beeks said: "There's nothing to say at this moment in time. I have no comment to make about Wasps or Wycombe Wanderers."

Failure to submit the accounts on time led to Wycombe Wanderers Trust members David Roberton and Don Woodward standing down as Trust Directors on the club’s board.

He should be answering questions about him championing Steve Hayes's involvement (or should we say meddling) with the club.
Also, the extent to which Hayes has tangled up the running of WWFC and Wasps means that it is very difficult to provide a clear balance sheet as to whether the rent that Wasps pay equals the amount it costs to host them and the loss of revenue of WWFC supporters who stopped buying season tickets for the football but switched to the rugby.

When Wasps first came here, some faceless marketing man described it as the 'greatest day in WWFC's history'. Increasingly it looks like the beginning of the end of our town's proud 125-year-old football club.

Hopefully the club will survive disgraceful Hayes , Beeks etc and all their cronies and hangers-on. It has come through crises in the past - though this lot have tried their best to destroy it out of sheer opportunism , greed and rank stupidity.
.
If football cannot clean out its own rubbish , it will not survive and will choke itself to death on that rubbish.
.
Now is the time for the real football people who care to stand up and be counted. But , please , no more dodgy dealers, gangsters , crooks or cheats please.

We are desperately trying to get WDC to provide facility for us to continue to practice & teach scuba diving at Handy cross. If the new plans for Handy cross do not provide a like for like sports centre (currently they do not) we will be without depth for training or a store for our compressor & equipment. HWSAC has been hiring Handy Cross pool every Thursday evening for 37 years we hope to continue our use.
We have formed a petition to help convince WDC to provide for all user groups

Why am I wondering whether the "enabling agreement" which allowed WW to move to a Green Belt site, while someone built on Loakes Park might be coming home to roost. Hope you sleep well, while the hospital is being shut down.
