PRINCES Risborough Festival kicks off on Saturday.

Proceedings start with a street parade from the Baptist Church at 1.30pm, down the High Street to Wades Park.

Then there is an afternoon of arena events, side shows and stalls tailored to young families with children until 5.30pm.

Arena attractions include the Chiltern Hills Brass Band, The High Wycombe Cheerleading Academy and Martial Arts.

Then in the evening from 7.30pm to 12am at the community centre in Stratton Road, there is a James Bond spectacular.

One of the organisers, Richard Stevenson, said: "We were looking for ways to raise money. We are self funding.

"We get a generous donation from the council each year but still need to raise money. So this year we have come up with a James Bond evening."

Play for fun at blackjack and roulette, with the chance of winning cash prizes for those who win the most on the games during the evening.

Miss Dawn Alacey will entertain as she sings songs from the Bond films.

Hot food and a bit will also be available. Tickets are £10, which includes entrance and free casino money from Gorgeous Giggles, 12 Hair in Duke Street or from The Red Lion, Whiteleaf.

The Risborough 10k on the Sunday has been cancelled by race organisers, but there is a picnic and chocolate hunt from Whiteleaf Cross car park from 1 to 2.30pm.

Then for the rest of the week various places around the town are open to the public including a Hypnos factory tour, lunchtime concerts, a photographic exhibition at the library and tennis clubs are also open.

Mr Stevenson said: "The idea is to promote the town and business and local community and bring it all together."

On Saturday, July 12 there is a street fair and lots going on throughout the day, including a second hand book sale and live music from 1.30 to 6pm.
