MP CHERYL Gillan has not breached the ministerial code over the sale of her Amersham house close to the proposed High Speed 2 route, it has been announced.
The Chesham and Amersham Parliamentarian had come under fire after national media reports at the weekend revealed she had sold her constituency home recently.
See related articles below.
The sale happened before the Government approved the £33bn scheme last week.
The news angered campaigners, triggering further calls for her to resign as Welsh Secretary role.
Labour asked Prime Minister David Cameron to investigate if she had broken the Ministerial code.
But today Mrs Gillan's office revealed she has been found not to have breached the rules.
A brief statement confirmed: “The Prime Minister's official spokesman said this morning at the lobby briefing there has been no breach of the ministerial code.”

Not satisfactory Cheryl and hard to completely swallow in the minds of probably many people in the area.
Many of us will now join the chorus calling for her to resign.
She's let us down and seems to0 have acted shamefully, showing little integrity. Not so long ago she was shamed for claiming for pet food on her Commons expenses.
Then she backed opponents of the new rail route but caved in at the 11th hour to back the costly scheme which will spoil our countryside. She also wanted to toe the line with the rest of her Conservative party and desperately please colleagues there who back the rail scheme. There are umpteen other projects which should take priority over this at a time of big spending cuts in vital services.
Now it seems Mrs Gillan quietly sold her Old Amersham home to get away from the nuisance rail line and says it's because of her old husband. She no longer has a home in our area.
She defended her own possible selfish interests but not the lives of her constituents who trusted her to be honest, transparent and decent in her dealings with them.
She seems to face all ways to satisfy all but has other motives, it is alleged.
Hypocrite, I say madam. Be gone with you. Voters must cast her out at the next election.
There have been other MPs like her in the past and they were swept away for their doubtful actions. We haven't forgotten her pet food bills too!
