Volunteers needed to keep Princes Risborough youth centre open

PRINCES Risborough Youth Club desperately needs more volunteers otherwise organisers fear the facility may be lost.

The centre was saved after Buckinghamshire County Council withdrew funding for youth services across the county.

At last night's Princes Risborough Town Council meeting Will Streule said they are getting more than 30 youths a week.

But he said the youth worker is resigning due to the work load, as she has only managed to recruit two volunteers.

Cllr Streule said: "It has been such a success and it might end up failing, simply because we haven't got any volunteers."

He said volunteers do not have to give their time every week and the more they have the less people need to do.

The youth club is for ages 12-19 every Monday night from 6.30-9pm at the Hawthorn Road Youth Club.

Training and CRB checks will be arranged.
