Census 2011: Population in south Bucks up almost six percent
SOUTH Buckinghamshire’s population increased by almost six percent during the last ten years, according to new census data released today.
The combined population of the Wycombe, Chiltern and South Bucks districts now stands at 331,200.
There are 171,700 people living in the Wycombe district, which is an increase of 9,595 people from a decade ago.
The Chilterns has gained 3,372 new residents in the last ten years, with the population count ticking over to 92,600 people.
And there are now 66,900 people living in the South Bucks district, which is a rise of 4,995 people since the last survey in 2001.
The overall population of England and Wales shot up by 3.7 million people to 56.1 million.
Buckinghamshire’s population is 505,300.
People were asked to complete a compulsory form asking a host of questions - including age, gender, education, health, job titles, ethnic background and national identity - in March last year.
The results of the census will be used to plan public services.

Lets have some real figures. Is it bigger families or is it immigration?
Of course those who are here illegally won't be on the census anyway so the actual figure is going to be much higher!.

Due to the weather they have not been breeding like they usually do. So it's bad news for the all birds and spiders.
.
But perhaps the animals will turn on people , attack them , eat them and solve the out-of-control human over-population problem.

There is still just about enough room on this small planet for all of us. As long as people have respect the blessed Earth that we live on, for themselves and the views of others. If not .......

I believe that along with immigration we have seen a rise in births (although from personal experience there are just as many parents deciding to not have children due to childcare costs which could prove costly to our crime system in a few years). We are also seeing the health of our elderly improve with the average mortality age being 83 in a report in 2009. And, how many families moved in to take advantage of the school system, jobs and the like versus those who moved out of the area? Figures please!

Your days are numbered, being brought to an end
To be Scottish, Irish or Welsh that's fine
But don't say you're English, that's way out of line.
The French and the Germans may call themselves such
So may Norwegians, the Swedes and the Dutch
You can say you are Russian or maybe a Dane
But don't say you're English ever again.
At Broadcasting House the word is taboo
In Brussels it's scrapped, in Parliament too
Even schools are affected. Staff do as they're told
They must not teach children about England of old.
Writers like Shakespeare, Milton and Shaw
The pupils don't learn about them anymore
How about Agincourt, Hastings , Arnhem or Mons ?
When England lost hosts of her very brave sons.
We are not Europeans, how can we be?
Europe is miles away, over the sea
We're the English from England , let's all be proud
Stand up and be counted - Shout it out loud!
Let's tell our Government and Brussels too
We're proud of our heritage and the Red, White and Blue
Fly the flag of Saint George or the Union Jack
Let the world know - WE WANT OUR ENGLAND BACK !!!!

The raising of such a device could be interpreted is an ironic public visual display of sublimated or suppressed feelings encouraged by politicians during the period of 'The Games' to conflate imaginary nationalistic and patriotic emotions within the divers factions within a terminally fragmented , disconnected and disintegrating society.
.
A generated illusionary sense of 'togetherness' (and divisiveness as in 'us and them') - a ploy used by politicians and religious leaders to hold sway over and control the masses throughout time.
.
Folk who 'fly the Union flag' may in fact being doing it out of a sense of sheer mind-numbing ennui and a self-protective instinct brought about by over-exposure by the media to a lot of self-regarding (ie not very modest) people making money out of what is after all is just a business - not 'Sport' at all.
.
It worked for a lot of the Roman Emporers (for a while - about 400 years) but they ran out of money / taxes / victims in the end. And the poor / dispossessed / shut-out people got very bored with it all , all the different factions started to attack each other , then the Colliseum started to fall down.........

The stuff you rave about in your doggerel is by and large untrue. There is no problem whatsoever with going round saying that you are English. No one will arrest you or throw you in jail for it.
For that matter, just say out loud the name of the language you are writing in. Any problems? Any thought police from the EU zapping you with tasers?
I was born in England, think of my self as English and if anyone asks me what country I live in I will answer "England" just as my mum would have answered "Scotland". But, and its quite a big 'but', I also recognise there is a bigger picture to it all and geographically England, Great Britain, the UK, is part of Europe. Our culture is european. My ethnicity is european.
England is a great place to live (thats why a lot of people want to live here) but so are a lot of other places.

I hope you realise that I did not misunderstand your post - and for the record I do agree with anything that Stand Up For England says.
Your remarks about good manners and honesty and supporting the underdog are what I feel is unique about the English. We also are very tolerant as a nation - perhaps that is why greedy politicians stamp all over us.
England is still very much alive - you will always find it if you look xx

Instead of making nasty little jibes ALL the time.
Because actually in a world that is becoming increasingly negative, we do not need the "self important cynics" who talk cryptically as if they are in on some secret the rest of us do not know about.
I know plenty of people who have those qualities that you mock.
Perhaps you have the wrong friends.

J B Blackett says...
And what's with the 'nasty little jibes'?
We have not a nasty bone in our bodies. And have no secrets either.
.
It's all maybe a matter of interpretation and reading too much into things on occasions.
.
But I could say that some people may take offence and themselves too seriously sometimes and need to perhaps see faults they perceive in others as not necessarily a deviation from objectives / viewpoints in all arguments or debates.
.
That would possibly prove to be illogical and prejudicial in most contexts - even in a court of law. Also not all people are obliged to have the same perspectives on all topics as everybody else - why should they ?
.
.
Some people are so intolerant and take themselves so seriously as if they know the truth..

All you do is come on here and talk cryptically.
It looks condescending and patronising and I am fed up to the back teeth with it.
I actually do not take myself too seriously and I certainly do not know "the truth " - whatever that may be. Neither do you.
I thought what Sai Diva said about English folk was spot on.
But of course you know different.
But even if you didn't, what was the point of your so called "joky" post?
Sorry JBB - poke fun out of me if you will, but half the time I have absolutely no idea what the heck you are talking about anyway.
I don't think many people do.
But heigh ho - free speech and all that :)

People should be allowed to express themselves as they wish (within the bounds of common decency) in an open society.
.
However you see what happens on this site - abuse is generated whenever somebody 'takes offence' or decides to use profanity or offensive terms to 'make their point'. Sometimes it may be better if those situations were defused in some way.
.
Not realising that by using such language it is a sign that they cannot argue on facts or truly held opinions so resort to pointlessly abusing the opposition with choice words and the usual cliches. Possibly out of frustration - for whatever reason.
.
As for me being cryptic - that's my little secret.
.
As usual - no offence intended
