FATHERS will be raising money for charity in the Dash for Dads race – with one High Wycombe man taking part dressed as a cartoon character.
Darren Chandler will pull on an Iggle Piggle costume as he runs in memory of his daughter, Olivia, on Sunday morning.
Olivia died in September 2010 following an asthma attack at Ash Hill Primary School. She was eight years old.
Mr Chandler said: “I am hoping to raise funds for Child Bereavement UK, as they have helped me and other family members over the years as well as other families in the same situation as me.
“Those of you who know me, know that this is not going to be an easy task for me, but I feel with support I will succeed in making it to the finish line.”
The event at West Wycombe Park will feature one, two and five kilometre races, as well as refreshments and family activities.
It gets under way at 9am - entry is £2 for the one and two kilometre races, with the 5k run costing £5.
Visit www.dashfordad.org.uk for more information about the race and www.justgiving.com/darren-chandler4 to sponsor Mr Chandler.
