Staff at a Wycombe Marsh pet store were locked in animal cages as part of fundraising efforts to support a local dog rescue charity.

Pets at Home employees undertook a number of fundraising challenges to raise money for Stokenchurch Dog Rescue.

Among the fundraising events, staff wore fancy dress in the store, sold cakes and collected donations from customers.

Employees were even known to be shut in a large animal cage and customers were encouraged to donate to ensure their “release”, said Bonnie Angus, one of the staff fund raisers.

On Saturday, a cheque for £566 was given to Stokenchurch Dog Rescue trustee Lesley Browne after a series of charity weekends.

Another fund raising weekend in aid of Stokenchurch Dog Rescue and the Blue Cross is being planned for December 20 and 21.
