The theft of a pet dog on Monday night has been linked to a spate of burglaries in the area.

At around 11.15pm on Monday, February 16, thieves gained access to the back garden of a house in Water End, near Stokenchurch and stole a dog from her kennel at around 11.15pm.

Smudge, a Patterdale Terrier, has white socks on her front legs, a stubby tail and some scarring around her ears and nose.

She was not wearing a collar when she was taken.

The nine-year-old pet is very energetic and responds to commands.

On the same night, a bronze statue of a woman’s torso, a quad bike and tools were stolen from a garden in Bennett End, Radnage at some point between 11pm and 9am on Tuesday morning.

The burglaries have now been linked to a string of other incidents in the area that happened overnight between Monday and Tuesday.

Thieves attempted to steal from a vehicle at Yewden Farm, Hambleden, but nothing was taken.

Thieves then stole a chainsaw and a hedge trimmer from Little Parmoor Farm, Parmoor.

A gate at Chequers Manor Farm in Cadmore and a building in Spring Garden Lane in Ibstone also suffered criminal damage.

There were two incidents where items were stolen from vehicles; tools and registration plates were stolen from a white Vauxhall Mervano in Ibstone Road, Ibstone and tools were also taken from a white Mercedes Vito in Water End, Stokenchurch.

Outside the Stag and Huntsman pub in Hambleden, ‘vehicle interference’ to a blue VW Golf that was parked outside, was also reported.

Two golf clubs, one made by Taylor and one by Callway, were stolen from a red VW Golf at Arizona Farm, Hambleden and three ‘Trek’ racing bikes, one grey and two white, were taken during a burglary in Skirmett Road, Hambleden.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the burglaries.

Investigating officer, PC Danny O’Driscoll based at Marlow Police Station said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in these locations on Monday and Tuesday to contact police via 101. You may have vital information that can aid our investigation.

“The spate of burglaries has had a devastating effect on the victims, especially the owners of Smudge, who have lost their family dog, and the owner’s of the bronze statue which has sentimental value.”

Anyone with information should call 101, or to report information anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
