Wycombe's future shown on Facebook

FACEBOOK will help reveal the future of Wycombe as imagined by council chiefs.

A new campaign, using social media websites, looks back at the district's past and also at the longer term plan to improve it going forward.

The '50 for the future' scheme by Conservative-controlled Wycombe District Council will show what action is being taken to make the area fit for the future.

It is based on the newly released Corporate Plan, which sets out its three priorities - people, places and pounds.

WDC said it is focused on listening to and engaging with communities, ensuring transparency and working for things residents want, such as protecting the green belt.

The authority said working out new ways of providing services with less cash is also key but stressed its commitment to freezing council tax.

A different place or object within Wycombe will be showcased each week on the Facebook page and residents are invited to share their memories too.

Visit the '50 for the future' Facebook page, the council website or via Twitter @wycombedc.

Good idea. Hopefully they can find a way to leave ideas and plans up online for the long term.

Why does the article refer to the political party of the Council? What does that have to do with the story? Is the BFP becoming the Daily Wail?
