Bucks wakes up to severe snow

snow in marlow snow in marlow

AS MUCH as nine inches of snow has fallen and settled overnight in parts of south Bucks.

Stokenchurch appears to have had the most snow fall, with about nine inches, while Downley has been hit particularly hard, according to reports from readers.

The M40 has been cleared but late last night conditions were extremely hazardous, with reports of over 100 cars abandoned between High Wycombe junction 4 and junction 6.

See link below for live traffic cameras of the M40.

Road safety charity the IAM has today told drivers not to travel unless it is completely necessary and to check the conditions for your entire journey.

Buckinghamshire County Council Leader Martin Tett tweeted this morning: "Clear own snow sensibly and help neighbours esp the elderly or vulnerable."

How bad are the roads where you are? How much snow have you had?

"Buckinghamshire County Council Leader Martin Tett tweeted this morning: "Clear own snow sensibly and help neighbours esp the elderly or vulnerable."

Is that the best this bloke can come up with???????

Why is he interested in the elderley and the vunerable all of a sudden, when he has cut most of their vital services.

Im sure if a train line needed clearing of snow, he would be out there like a bull in a china shop.

Mr Tett, what happened to the gritting lorries in Downley????????

Again we are at the bottom of the list.

How do you clear snow sensibly?
Does this mean you are not allowed to laugh or throw snowballs in a non sensible fashion?

I think it should be 'sensitive'. That means no maniacal laughing in the snow and no stones inside snowballs (I think).
.
And no slippery bits left after clearing the snow as a cunning way to deceive all the vulnerable elderly folk.
.
Strange as it may seem this Martin Tett is known as 'Shovelmouth' by those who know him. Coincidence ?

what the hell is this bloke on .
instead of sitting on your backside tweeting and facebook. do your job and clear our roads. do what you are paid for by the tax payer

I think the quicker Tett resigns, or has to be pushed, the better, he does not seem to do the job he is paid for by the taxpayer, and the work that is being done is shoddy, and not thought out.

Perhaps Mr Tett, you would like to come and sit in the traffic chaos you and your team have caused at the bottom of Plomer Hill, and The Pastures each morning, since you thought it eas a good idea to alter the sequence of the traffic lights, and see what mayhem you have caused, oh, and also your bright idea of shortening the width of the road, come and sit in the traffic and see what you think.

Just forget your trains and concentrate on what you are supposed to be doing.
