PUPILS learnt about the solar system and space in a fun filled workshop inspired by Speen Festival.

Helen Sharman, the first British astronaut in space, visited Speen Festival last year, which is a Chilterns based festival which celebrates artistic talent in the area.

It runs every two years, but every year an educational aspect of the festival is run.

This year it started on June 6 with children taking part in an educational day led by the Mad Science Team.

Then last Monday, June 23 and Wednesday, June 25 as part of SpeenSchoolFest, Cosmic Creators workshops were hosted by Speen School.

Hannah Ball School and Hughenden Primary School joined in with the space adventures.

Kate Laughton, SpeenSchoolFest! 2014 project manager, said: "It was really great. This is the fifth year we have done it.

"It is the first year we have done it over three days."

The Speen Festival takes place next year in 2015, probably in September.
