DUST off your swimming costumes – the revamped Holywell Mead swimming pool has reopened for the summer.
£2m has been ploughed into giving the newly renamed Wycombe Rye Lido a makeover over the last 18 months.
The pool, which is now heated, and the changing facilities have been renovated over the two-phase project.
A new 60 station gym, group exercise and cycling studios, changing facilities and cafe - dubbed The Lido Kitchen - opens next month in the former Environment Centre building.
It marks a huge turn around for the historic pool, which was closed in 2009 by cash-strapped Wycombe District Council.
Campaigners battled relentlessly to have it reopened – and their wish was granted when Fusion Lifestyle was handed a 50-year lease to run and redevelop the site by WDC in 2011.
The pool was reopened for summer 2012 by Suzanne Grant - who was at the original launch of the pool in the 1950s - Cllr Trevor Snaith and Chris Woodman from the High Wycombe Society last week.
