'Moron' blasted for Union Jack insult to Queen 'Moron' blasted for Union Jack insult to Queen

A PATRIOTIC man has lambasted a prankster for insulting the Queen by removing his Union Jack covers on his wing mirrors.

The national flag decorations were removed from Mervyn Buston's car on June 13 when he was parked at Gossmore Recreation Ground in Marlow walking his dog.

Mr Buston, of Herons Place, Marlow, branded the culprit a 'moron' and said he managed to note a registration number of another driver, who he suspected did it.

He said: "He just decided that it was good idea for some reason to take it off and throw it on the grass, which was a rather stupid thing to do.

"The covers were not there in connection with the Euro 2012 and the England football team as I am a supporter of a game with a different shaped ball, but were left from the Jubilee celebrations.

"Removing them was really disrespectful to the Queen, not to me."

this is barely worthy of being a slightly miffed anecdote to tell a friend, let alone something to publish as if it were news

oh, and nothing against the queen (or football), but I really can't stand those car-mounted flags!

Agreed. What an earth is going on? Are we seriously reading about somebody removing some wing mirror covers from a car!? For gods sake I am sure there are many other news stories out there that could be taken up rather than this rubbish! How about the BFP start a news campaign regarding Chiltern Railways shocking service they now provide for customers including no late night trains from the capital even on the weekend, the ever increasing amount of gang crime, our horrendous High St or silly amount of traffic lights? No......? Ok then just a thought.

I caught a train from Marylebone to Wycombe the other saturday night @ 00.10, which is the last train, and has been for a long time.

00.10 - Exactly my point. This is very poor compared to many other lines out of London who run trains throughout the night so that people can go out to London and come back inthe early hours instead of having to pay for hotels or expensive taxis if they wish to meet friends and have drinks into the late evening/night.

I was playing Rule Brittania in my car at a loud volume when trying to pull out into a line of slow moving traffic. Needless to say, despite this show of patriotism, no drivers were inclined to let me in demonstrating a further lack of respect for our sovereign. I was therefore obliged to collide with one of these Republican motorists and yet my insurance company holds me responsible for the accident and I have been penalised for driving without due care and attention!
