MR POTATO head, Buzz Lightyear and seventies style gear were the top costume choices for New Year's revellers, a Flackwell Heath fancy dress shop manager has said.
Party goers were more organised in 2008 than previous years and took advantage of the post Christmas weekend to sort out their wacky attire.
Sharon Taylor, manager of Giggles, in Swains Lane, said there were a wide range of costumes hired but many people got kitted out for seventies parties:
"We had a good four days people coming to us in the lead up to the New Year celebrations and most people wanted to hire costumes rather than buy them which was different to last year.
"We had Mr Potato Head costumes and Power Rangers going out which were popular and also Buzz Lightyear.
“People were planning ahead a lot more this year whereas last year they were rushing in and grabbing what they could at the last minute."
She added: "I think that with the four days leading up to the New Year, we did better overall than previous years."
