THE votes have been counted and the waiting is finally over to find out the winner of the South Bucks Star's Prettiest Pooch competition.
150 dogs had their pretty pictures sent into the paper and a staggering 956 votes were cast for the handsome hounds on our website and through the voting slips.
The contest started back in May, and competition has been fierce from the start.
All of the dogs entered were winners in their owners' eyes, but unfortunately there could only be one Prettiest Pooch for 2007.
And the clear winner of the coveted title and the bragging rights is American Staffordshire Bull Terrier Sasha, who scooped himself 103 votes.
He earns himself a £25 voucher for pampering services at Canine Cutz, in the High Street, Downley as well as a £20 voucher for pet food and toys at Ammerslee Pet Supplies, in Swains Lane, Flackwell Heath.
Sasha's winning picture was sent in by his owner Lisa Mainds and charmed the hearts of readers.
Here he is again, along with another shot of him with his friend Deano the German Pointer.
And the runner-up prize went to Springer Spaniel Lady, pictured, who got 68 votes in the competition.
Joint owner Felicity Marsh, 21, took this snap of their nine-year-old pooch at home in Seymour Court Road, Marlow, surrounded by her teddies.
She said: "It was a real surprise because there were so many dogs in the competition. We will buy her some more toys and treats - she does like her teddies."
Lady wins herself a £10 voucher from Canine Cutz, and a £15 voucher from Ammerslee Pet Supplies.
Many of the dogs also featured in a special Prettiest Pooch supplement in the Star's sister paper the Bucks Free Press.
