MOST first-time mothers find tending to their offspring tiring, but perhaps none more so than Darcy.
Labrador Darcy has given birth to ten healthy puppies and neither her or owner Anita Ramsbottom have been getting much sleep.
The most unusual thing about the litter wasn't its size, but the fact that all ten pups share the least common Labrador colour.
Ollie, Charlie, Daphne, Milly, Rambo, Sid, Rupert, Bobby and two identical girls just known as the twins' are all perfect chocolate brown - just like their parents.
Anita, who helped deliver the litter in the front garden of their home in Dashwood Avenue, High Wycombe, on August 23 said: "We expected her to have around six puppies, but they just kept coming.
"Rambo is the biggest and doesn't believe in going around things, but goes through them instead, whilst the smallest one, Ollie, can squeeze through the baby gates we've put up, so they make no difference."
Despite his escapades, Ollie will be staying with Darcy and Anita, while Charlie has found a home with a nine-year-old neighbour.
Anita is planning to donate two puppies to be trained as guide dogs for the blind.
