THIS is the dramatic moment firemen saved a stricken cat by giving it oxygen after pulling it from a burning house.
Firefighters managed to save six cats from the house in Lane End. Sadly, a seventh died.
It is thought that the fire, which took hold two weeks ago, on December 17, at a house in Firs Lane, was started by an overheated plug adaptor.
One fire crew from Beaconsfield and a crew from High Wycombe managed to keep the blaze in the kitchen under control .
Station manager Mark Watson, who was at the scene, said: “Although there was no one in the house at the time, and the smoke alarm downstairs was sounding, there were no working batteries in the smoke alarm on the first floor.
“A house fitted with working smoke detectors – and people reacting to them – gives us a much better chance of saving lives.”
