Residents who want to speak out about the future of their neighbourhood have only got one week left to make sure their voice is heard.

From transport to employment, environment and community facilities, South Bucks District Council are currently listening to what the public want to see change in the area across the next two decades.

As part of their new local plan, a public consultation has been gathering feedback from residents, community groups, businesses, organisations, developers and landowners on what they think should be taken into account.

SBDC say they new plan will set out an overall vision and strategy for delivering sustainable development in the district to 2036.

They will also look at site specific land use allocations and development proposals to meet future needs for, housing, employment, shopping, community facilities and open space, as well as new policies which will be used to determine future planning applications.

As part of the plan, the council is also running a 'Call for Sites', asking people to submit sites they feel may be suitable for development, whether it be for houses, employment or some other use. All suggested sites will be considered.

At the time of launching the Local Plan, SBDC portfolio holder for sustainable development, Roger Reed, said: “I encourage everyone in the district to have their say so that together we can look at finding positive solutions for the growth needed to provide enough jobs, new homes and business space, protect important open spaces and countryside and create better facilities for future generations.

“This will be an incredibly important plan and we must together get it right.”
