Free car parking spaces are being created in Frogmoor as part of plans to rejuvenate High Wycombe town centre.

A construction company is currently working on changing the face of Frogmoor, near the High Street, with work expected to continue until early December.

As part of the scheme, which started two weeks ago, people will be able to park in the centre of town free for an hour.

To allow for more public parking and taxi rank spaces, there will be changes to the allocation of kerb space for taxi, disabled parking and loading.

Once the new layout is complete the existing northbound bus stop will be removed.

The project is being led by Wycombe District Council working in partnership with Buckinghamshire County Council.

Plans are part of wider work being done in conjunction with HWBidCo (High Wycombe Business Improvement District) to help make Frogmoor more accessible and attractive in the future.

Plans for the area could also include new tree planting and seating.

Other changes include a wider footway where Bull End comes into the southern end of Frogmoor, in a bid to make the area more attractive and easier for people to cross the road.

The works are expected to be completed at the start of next month, but will be temporarily suspended for the Christmas Light Switch on, on 19 November.
