PARISH chairman Janet Gould went to test out some new play equipment which has been unveiled in Bourne End.
Wooburn and Bourne End Parish Council has finished refurbishing the Blind Lane play area with new equipment, including a modern climbing frame.
Last week she found Alex Huxley, eight, Lauren Hudson, four, and Poppy Hudson, two, playing on the equipment and said they gave it the 'thumbs up'.
Playgrounds at Bourne End recreation ground and Holtspur Avenue are soon to be upgraded after a £57,000 injection of funding from the council. Watery Lane play area has also benefited from a £45,000 revamp.
A statement from the council said: “These achievements are the result of a lot of hard work by the parish council’s play equipment working party with assistance from the clerk’s office and they are all to be congratulated on a job well done.
“This is just the start of a review across the parish of all play areas by the open spaces committee.
"Bourne End recreation ground has already had two new pieces of play equipment added, a trampoline and a roundabout and it is now the intention to review other play areas.
If any parishioners who would like to contribute to the work of the parish council or know more of what is involved contact the clerk on 01628 522827 or email: clerk@wooburnparish.gov.uk
