A RECREATIONAL ground has received royal approval and will be renamed.
The Shelley Road Recreation Ground in High Wycombe is to be rebranded as the Queen Elizabeth II Field as part of the Field In Trust initiative.
The national scheme was launched to protect playing fields across the country. It ties in with the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The Shelley Road Recreational Ground topped a residents’ vote after eight of the district’s playing fields were put forward for consideration.
Cllr Katrina Wood, Wycombe District Council Cabinet member for community, said: “There was a great response to this initiative and to have Shelley Road Recreation Ground renamed is a great honour.
“Not only is this protecting this important outdoor space, but it is creating a legacy of the two landmark occasions for future generations.”

@Loudwater69 - of course Charlie IS going to get a go. The royal traditions will not be changed just because the next one is a d*ckhead.
