Damaged and in desperate need of repair, Wycombe’s Red Lion has been pictured with its tail between its legs this week.
As town centre residents joins the Bucks Free Press in campaigning for the landmark to be returned to its former glory, our eagle-eyed photographer spotted that the tail has now been put between its back legs.
The lion, which stands on top of a portico in High Street, has been damaged in recent years culminating in the end of the tail snapping off.
The figure has stood above the town centre shops for over a century and remains one of High Wycombe’s best known landmarks.
