AMERSHAM MP Cheryl Gillan today visited the scene of the fire that completely gutted three buildings on Monday night.
Mrs Gillan spoke of her shock at seeing the devastating damage caused to two restaurants and a vacated office in Market Square, Old Amersham, for the first time.
She toured the fire-damaged buildings for nearly an hour with the town's Mayor, Martin King.
But Mrs Gillan added she was confident an adjoining shop, Orvis, would soon re-open for business - and said she was delighted that Gilbey's restaurant had already re-opened despite smoke damage caused by the blaze.
