A TEENAGER who lost £60 of savings for a school expedition to Peru, is celebrating after it was handed in to the police.
Kayzie Healey, 15, of Granville Road, Welling, burst into tears and phoned her mum when she realised she had lost her purse on the 89 bus as she was on her way to deposit the money at the bank.
But luckily, John McAlonen, 43, of Aberford Gardens, Bexleyheath, spotted the purse on the bus, as he headed back from work at the British Bakeries in Erith. He said: “I probably arrived just in time, before someone less honest found it. I wish her luck in raising the money for the trip.”
So far, Kayzie has raised £900 of £2,900 needed for the August 2002 trip with friends from Bexley Grammar School, in Danson Lane, Welling.
