THIS photograph shows a wide-load from Airtech Ltd negotiating the tight corner between Church Street and High Street, High Wycombe.

It was taken in August 1959, the year Buddy Holly was killed in a plane crash and Fidel Castro became president of Cuba.

The photo shows backed-up traffic waiting for the truck to carry out the manoeuvre, and many onlookers interested to see if it can make the tight turn. Airtech was an aircraft maintenance company set up after the Second World War.

It was based at Haddenham Airfield near Thame. Are you one of the people in the photo?
