THIS is Lincoln Road, High Wycombe in the year Elvis Presley records Heartbreak Hotel, videotape is first demonstrated at a convention in Chicago and poet Ted Hughes marries Sylvia Plath.

This photo was taken in 1959. It shows a group of hikers, five men, five women and one schoolgirl, walking across the fields on the site that is now Cressex Industrial Estate.
