The press at Gomm Road in the 1970s
IN 1968, our sister paper Midweek was launched and in the 1970s, the company was bought by Westminster Press, part of Pearson.
Here is a picture of the press at Gomm Road, taken in the 1970s, by which time the production of the newspaper had changed considerably, moving from hot metal to cold-type production.
