Let us drink beer, Mr Shakespeare
3:16pm Friday 11th January 2008
I WAS pleased to discover Wycombe District Council had done a bit of a U-turn over plans to hike up parking charges. The Bucks Free Press' campaign - Let us park, Mrs Clarke' - was a resounding success because it reflected public opinion in a firm but humorous manner.

10:40am Friday 14th December 2007
THERE was righteous indignation in the national newspapers this week over a plan to pay elected council leaders up to £10,000 in "golden goodbyes" when they are voted out of office.

Be as rude as you want about sleazey politicians
7:09pm Monday 10th December 2007

1:47pm Friday 9th November 2007
COUNCIL houses? I thought Maggie Thatcher had more or less gotten rid of them when she introduced the right-to-buy during her time as PM.

2:02pm Friday 9th November 2007
RE: Charles Mann's comments last week that burning an effigy of Guy Fawkes was barbaric. OH dear. Once again somebody wanting to meddle with things without understanding why they were done.

Guy Fawkes festival is barbaric
4:55pm Friday 2nd November 2007
WHEN oh when are they going to outlaw the barbaric ritual in which children celebrate as a human being is burned at the stake?
