Don't put your babies at risk of skin cancer

WE ARE all making the most of the welcome spell of sunny days but my enjoyment has been somewhat marred by the sight of so many little babies/young children being pushed in their forward-facing buggies with the sunshine full on their little faces and tender skin.

Yes, the buggy hood may have been raised as a shield from the sun but the person pushing the vehicle is unaware of the sunlight on the infant who, if not actually asleep, is screwing up its eyes in order to escape the glare.

Having worked as a volunteer fundraiser for Cancer Research UK, I am pained by the possibility of these little ones being put at risk of skin cancer, the incidence of which has increased during recent years.

Please, buggy pushers, spare time from talking on your mobile phones, or to your companions, to check that the precious person you are wheeling is safe and comfortable this summer.
