Back bomber memorial

REGARDING last week's letter from John Funnell headlined "Why don't we honour our bomber boys?", we the people of High Wycombe really should back the Bomber Command Memorial to the hilt given our close associations with RAF Bomber Command, now RAF Strike Command, up at Naphill.
If anyone wants to understand just how brave the Bomber Command Heroes really were, then please read the book "Tail-End Charlies" by John Nichol and Tony Rennell.
You will not believe how ordinary men can subject themselves to such brave endeavours night after night with no thought of self.
