A scout hut and youth club were both damaged by vandals during break-ins in the early hours of this morning in Prestwood.

Nothing was taken during either incident but both sets of premises were damaged.

A door to the scout hut was forced open and the fire doors to the youth club were also damaged.

Both clubs are in Nairdwood Lane and the forced entrances happened at around 2am today, prompting a Thames Valley Police appeal for information. The incidents are being treated as attempted burglary.

PC Roy Evans said: "Luckily nothing was stolen on this occasion but the offenders still caused a large amount of damage to these two community groups’ premises.

"If anyone has any information, I would urge them to make contact."

Anyone with information should contact PC Roy Evans or PC Gary Morton, both from Amersham police station, on 101.
