Children from 19 schools took part in the first-ever family run held as part of the Prestwood 10k race.

A total of 80 youngsters took part in the race, which was run alongside the main event for the first time on May 17.

The races raised £6,500 for the Chilterns MS Centre - a £1,100 increase on last year.

Catherine Golds from Chilterns MS said the charity hopes the fun run will now become an annual event in the same way the 10k race has.

She said: "We're hoping to have a more family focused event and hope to build on it in years to come.

"Sharon Deacon, who organised it, had a phone call from a mum at Little Kingshill School the morning afterwards to say it was really well organised and it had been talked about in the playground."

The main event was won by Paul Bucknall in a time of 36m19s, with Karmen Pardoe the first woman home in a time of 40m54s.
