A dried-up pond in Great Missenden, which has been home to wildlife for years, has left residents confused after the water has not returned this year.

The pond, which is directly opposite The Black Horse pub on Aylesbury Road, used to be a thriving habitat for ducks but has not seen any water since the winter of 2014.

The town's residents are now questioning what has happened to the water, with some feeling the recent rainfall should have been enough to see the pond return.

The pub's landlord Piers Roscoe said: "It was lovely when it was full.

"Our customers loved it and certainly I would like to see it come back."
