A Saunderton action group is inviting residents to a public meeting to discuss a controversial planning development tomorrow.

The Molins Action Group (MAG) is inviting residents to a public meeting at Bledlow Ridge Village Hall tomorrow at 7.30pm to discuss the implications of the development of the former Molins site in Haw Lane and take part in a Q&A session afterwards.

A planning application for the controversial development was submitted to Wycombe District Council, despite objections from residents and councillors, at the end of January.

The application, sent on behalf of developers St Congar Land, was expected to be submitted at the end of last year.

St Congar Land is proposing to demolish the existing buildings on the former Molins site in Haw Lane and build 212 houses in its place, along with parking, open space and vehicle and pedestrian access.

There are fears that up to 1000 houses could be built as the land next to the Molins site is now also owned by the same land owner as St. Congar.

The proposal has caused controversy amongst Saunderton residents and councillors and concerns over the number of houses, increased traffic, lack of footpaths and the strain on rail services were raised at a public meeting in December.

Over 15 objections to the application have been submitted online already.

The Chiltern Society have entered an objection to the application, stating that the number of houses set to be built is “far too high” and that streetlights are “abnormal” for such a rural area.

A target determination deadline for Wycombe District Council to decide whether to approve the application has been set for Friday, May 15.
