Risborough has become one of 300 communities to benefit from a government minibus fund.

Hundreds of charities and community groups are set to benefit from the £25 million grant, which will see communities across the country receive new nine to 16 seat minibuses.

The Risborough Area Community Bus, which runs six days a week to provide transport in and around Princes Risborough for people of all ages, successfully applied for a new vehicle.

Risborough Community Bus Chairman, Peter Johnson, said: “We don’t know the full details just yet but we’re obviously delighted and very pleased to have been awarded this funding.”

Transport Secretary, Patrick McLoughlin said: “I know first-hand how important transport providers like these can be to keep rural areas alive and protect the independence of local residents.

“They are often the lifeblood of local communities so it is only right that the government gives them the support they deserve.”
