A new community responder vehicle is set to be launched tomorrow after a garage in Princes Risborough funded the project.

Risboro Garage are donating the new Honda CRV 4x4 vehicle to the Risborough First Responders to use in local emergencies.

The Risborough area Community First Responders (CFRs) are volunteers, trained by the ambulance service to respond to medical emergencies before an ambulance gets to the scene.

CFRs might typically respond to reports of cardiac arrest, strokes, choking, unconscious patients and diabetic emergencies.

The launch ceremony is set to take place at Princes Risborough Golf Club, in Lee Road, on Friday morning.

Sean Graham, manager at Risboro Garage said he was delighted with the finished product.

“We’re very pleased, it’s been a long time coming and we were worried it might not be finished in time but luckily it is.

“We’ve been here for over thirty years and we thought it was about time we gave something back to the community.

“We thought it would be a brilliant idea to raise funds for a new community responder vehicle.”

The garage has worked closely with the Rural Community Defibrillator Project, who recently installed a public defibrillator at Risborough golf club, donating £5 from every MOT and service and £1 for every ‘like’ on their Facebook page to the cause.
