The newly-elected Mayor of Princes Risborough has told of his honour at being chosen for the seventh time.
Councillor Alan Turner was duly elected into the role of Town Mayor and Chairman at the first meeting of the new council on Tuesday evening.
He said: "It's a real privilege to be Mayor and Chairman once again. Being the mayor is a very pleasant part of the job, meeting different people. It's a great honour."
Cllr Wally Woolf was chosen to become Deputy Mayor again and Cllr Iain McLauchlan was elected to be Chairman of the Finance Committee.
Cllr Turner also told of his delight at being re-elected as a district councillor for The Risboroughs alongside another Independent stalwart Gary Hall and Conservative Councillor David Knights.
He said: "I'm very pleased that Gary and I had a very good share of the vote. It's very humbling to be chosen again and it's nice to know that people put their faith in us.
"Now we have to press on with the challenges facing us in Risborough. The local plan will be the biggest challenge that we have had to face in 50 years."
