Britain in Bloom judges will be taking a tour around Risborough this morning.

The judges from the Thames and Chilterns in Bloom organisation will be taking in the best sights around Princes Risborough, Monks Risborough, Askett and Whiteleaf and judging them between 11am and 1pm.

During their two-hour tour, the judges will be looking for examples of outstanding parks and open spaces, quality plants and natural wildlife areas as well as examples of community participation and management of litter, empty shops and dog fouling.

The route the judges will be taking includes the Princes Centre gardens, Brush Hill Nature Reserve, the Whiteleaf Rag Pit, Monks Risborough School, Stratton Memorial Gardens, Wades Park and Park Mill Ponds before they head back to the Princes Centre for refreshments.

Cllr Alan Turner said: "After a test run, I think we have got the timings just right, we have got two hours exactly to show the judges everything.

"The town is not looking bad at all, we have done our best in a short space of time.

"It's our first year in devolved services, so it was always going to be a bit difficult but the town is looking great."
