Schoolchildren are hoping to tackle speeding in Princes Risborough after creating vibrant posters to warn drivers to slow down.

Princes Risborough Neighbourhood Action Group has been working with local primary schools on a poster campaign to try and make the town a safer place to live.

The children were challenged to design road safety signs and dozens of hopefuls entered.

The two winning entries were designed by Elliot from Princes Risborough Primary School and Year 2 pupil Stanley Marshall from Monks Risborough Primary School.

The talented youngsters each received a voucher of their choice and their poster designs are already being used around the town.

The standard of entries were so high, that Robyn Jones from Monks Risborough Primary and Beatriz, Sophie, Zoe and Jenna from Princes Risborough Primary School were awarded the 'Highly Commended' accolade.

Members of the Neighbourhood Action Group were on hand at celebration assemblies to present the winners with their prizes.

Nathan Davis, Neighbourhood Action Group Chairman said: “We are absolutely delighted with the response we had. The entries were so good and the children really seemed to understand the need for a striking, effective design.

“I hope they will be delighted to see their artwork around the town; it will really make people think about their speed and help keep others safe.”
