An historic two-day hill climb in Princes Risborough raised £75,000 for charity during their seventh annual event, it was released today.

The Kop Hill Climb, which took place on September 19 & 20, attracted a record number of visitors – some 16,500 – and featured over 400 vehicles ranging from early 1900s to the modern day.

The event has raised over £300,000 since it first took place back in 2009.

John Biggs, the event’s organiser, said: “I think Kop Hill Climb is the best value event for £10 anywhere in Buckinghamshire.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made it possible to raise such a fantastic sum for charity.

“This includes spectators, sponsors, exhibitors, the entrants - who brought their cherished vehicles for us to see – and to the hundreds of volunteers, without whom the event just couldn’t take place.”

The climb's organisers confirmed there have been a record number of applications made to Heart of Bucks this year for consideration and a grants panel will meet this month to decide how the money is awarded.

Dates for next year’s event have been confirmed as September 17 & 18 with entries opening next April.
