A charity has launched its own version of the famous Three Peaks Challenge for the seventh year in a row.

Rennie Grove Hospice Care is holding the Chilterns 3 Peaks on September 11 this year and is expecting hundreds of people and their dogs to sign up for the sponsored challenge.

The walk takes in the sights of Whiteleaf Cross, Coombe Hill and Ivinghoe Beacon to raise money for the charity, which supports people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Those who want to take part can join in with a five, nine or 18 mile route, all starting and finishing at Princes Risborough School.

This year, the challenge is supported by the Buckinghamshire Building Society, which has covered the costs of t-shirt printing.

Jill Carpenter, Marketing Manager at Buckinghamshire Building Society, said: “The staff and directors were all really keen to support this charity as many of us have known friends and family that have been affected by cancer or long term illness and so supporting the work of Rennie Grove seemed to be appropriate.

“Several of the staff have done the walk before and so we are all keen to get our walking boots out.”

Registration for the Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge costs £20 for adults and £10 for children (anyone aged five to 16 years old), with under 5s going free.
