Theatre group prepares for Murder in Play

The Marlow Players The Marlow Players

ALL smiles for The Marlow Players as they prepare for their forthcoming production, Murder in Play.

The group moved into the Shelley Theatre at the weekend ahead of the Boris Smolensky's comedy thriller, which follows the search for the murderer of an amateur theatre actor who is killed on stage by a fellow member of the cast.

The Players will also be taking the production across the English Channel to perform in Marlow's twin-town, Marly-le-Roi on Saturday, April 25, as part of a link up with French drama group Les Baladins de Marly.

Director Tony Bew said: “We moved into the theatre over the weekend and everything has gone to plan so far. It has been a lot of fun putting the show together, especially as we only started rehearsals in February.”

But has Mr Bew been tempted to imitate the script and knock off one of the cast?

“Well I've been tempted a few times, but the cast have been brilliant, it has been a lot of fun and I'm delighted at the way the show is shaping up,” he added.

Murder in Play begins at the Shelley Theatre, Marlow on Thursday, April 2 until Saturday, April 4. Tickets cost £7.50 on Thursday and £10 for the Friday and Saturday performances from 01494 880 486.
