No concerns at Kuffour's goalless run

JO Kuffour's run of games without a goal isn't a concern for caretaker manager Gareth Ainsworth.

The August signing from Gillingham has been a prolific goalscorer at many of his former clubs but is still goalless for Blues after making 11 appearances.

That's despite a string of impressive recent performances and Ainsworth said he won't be concerned at his lack of goals if he keeps playing as well as he has been.

He said: "Jo's work rate is phenomenal. A lot of people don't see what he does off the ball. He makes things happen, he makes a lot of unselfish runs - I just want him to get a goal. He gets plenty in training and I know he can hit the target.

"If he still makes runs and clever balls and we still score goals, he's doing his job. If Jo scores lots of goals himself, he's doing his job. It doesn't really matter. He's a proven goalscorer and it won't be a long time before Jo Kuffour gets his first goal."

Ainsworth said he hadn't sensed too much frustration from the 30-year-old forward at his failure to hit the target, and he is relishing his role playing alongside Dean Morgan in what is looking a fruitful partnership.

He said: "It's more he's smiling because he knows what he's doing for the rest of the boys. I keep saying to him, 'You'll get your goal'. He's frustrated because everyone else is getting the glory and he's doing all the hard work.

"To be fair they've worked really well together up there. It's not about one person, it's about Wycombe. Jo understands the philosophy and what we've got going here."

Don't forget Beavon struggled to score until last season so i hope kuffor gets a good run in the side as i'm sure the goals win come and if he curbs his temper will be a decent signing.
