DAI Young believes the next month will go a long way to shaping their season.

Wasps are already well-placed in the Amlin Challenge Cup, but could take control in the LV Cup and give their Premiership campaign a shot of adrenaline with good results against Cardiff, Worcester, Leicester and Exeter.

Young said: “The next four games are big for us. We’re in a very important month.

“If we can win these two LV games we’ll be in a very good position in that competition.

“We’re top in the Amlin and eighth in the Aviva and if we can get as much out of those two [Premiership] games against Leicester and Exeter we’ll be going into Christmas with a shout in the Aviva and doing well in the Amlin and the LV.

“Then you’re into the business end after Christmas, but at least you’ve got things to chase.”

Young’s assertion that Leicester at home and Exeter away are both games Wasps can target reveals a new confidence at the club.

He said: “In the early part of the year you could see us clamming up when games became tight. The big black cloud of last year was still hanging over us.

“That’s starting to blow away and I can tell there is more belief in the squad.

“When you can’t get any more out of the players there is nowhere to go, but we all realise there is more to come out of this team and we’re pushing teams now.”
